Your First Visit

Complimentary Consultation

At your first visit to our office, Dr. Sjursen and Dr. Nyquist will perform a clinical examination and assess dental development as well as determine the skeletal/facial balance and growth patterns.

Most children are placed on an orthodontic observation/recall so they can be periodically evaluated to ensure the dental and facial development is proceeding well. The majority will begin treatment as an adolescent. This process ensures the commencement of care is ideal for each individual patient.

Diagnostic Records

If you or your child are ready to begin treatment, then diagnostic records are made to determine the best course. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, 3D digital scan of the teeth, photos of the patient’s face and teeth, and X-rays.

This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. The records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case.

Regular Appointments

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes one hour. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
