Meet Dr. Sjursen
Dr. Sjursen is committed to providing the highest quality orthodontic care. His practice philosophy is to treat every patient like a member of his own family. He enjoys getting to know his patients and having them become a part of his "practice family" as they receive orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Sjursen, a native of Long Island New York, has been serving Middle Tennessee since 1993. Before coming to Tennessee, Dr. Sjursen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he graduated at the top of his class. He went on to complete his orthodontic residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. After finishing his residency, Dr. Sjursen became a full time faculty member at Vanderbilt Medical Center, teaching and practicing in the Division of Orthodontics in the Section of Surgical Sciences. He was also a member of the Craniofacial Team and involved in the care of complex facial and developmental anomalies. In 1998, Dr. Sjursen opened his own private practice in Franklin, where he has been serving the smiles of the community ever since.
Dr. Sjursen is committed to staying current with the latest advances in orthodontics. He is a member of several prestigious dental and orthodontic associations, including the:

- Nashville Dental Society
In addition, Dr. Sjursen has received numerous awards for academic and clinical excellence, including memberships in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr Sjursen has published numerous articles on orthodontic treatment planning, growth and development, diagnosis, and biomechanics in professional journals including the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Outside of the practice..
Dr. Sjursen, and his wife Dina, have two children, Ava and Mia. They live in Franklin where they enjoy biking, running, and other outdoor activities. Dr. Sjursen's enjoys fly fishing and cycling. He also loves the time he spends with his family, and looks forward to reading and drawing with his daughters.
